Continuing the musical theme of their last few away jerseys, Bohemian FC have revealed their 2024 away jersey, and it pays tribute to Thin Lizzy’s famous 1977 gig – Dublin’s first major Rock festival – which took place in the club’s stadium, Dalymount Park, on 21 August.

100 percent fan-owned, Ireland’s oldest football club, Bohemian FC have been popping up on the radar over the last few years thanks in the most part to their musically inspired away shirts. Now, that theme continues with the reveal of the club’s away shirt for 2024, which pays homage to the famed gig by Irish rock band, Thin Lizzy, and specifically the band’s Black Rose album, in its design.

Shirt sales will also raise funds to provide access to music for underprivileged children across Dublin City.

The shirt features a quote from The Boys Are Back in Town on the neck, black rose detailing, designed by the great Jim Fitzpatrick, throughout the body, as well as sleeve trims, and an embroidered hem tag of an original concert poster on the lower front.

10 percent of the profits from the shirt will be used by Bohemian Football Club to help bring music to disadvantaged and socially isolated children across Dublin. This will be done in conjunction with club partners for the project ‘Music Generation Dublin City’.

“We are delighted to unveil this jersey today following lots of work on the idea,” explained Daniel Lambert, Bohemian FC, COO. “The Lizzy concert at Dalymount has always been mentioned in any lists of the greatest Irish gigs of all time. For Dalymount Park, it was the first concert held at our famous venue, setting the path for the many famous gigs to follow through the 80s and 90s. Thin Lizzy are one of the greatest Irish bands of all time, and for many Phil the greatest Dubliner, to pay tribute to them and the gig on the shirt is brilliant. A very special thanks to Jim Fitzpatrick for his permission to use the Black Rose throughout, and to Des Kelly Interiors for their continued willingness to work with us on unique shirts.”
