To celebrate 125 years of DFB, adidas Originals have unveiled a special anniversary kit paying homage to Germany’s rich football history. The retro-inspired kit also arrives alongside a lifestyle range, with all pieces fashioning the iconic adidas Trefoil.

Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB) is celebrating 125 years since founding in 1900, and the incredible success they have had since then – becoming one of the most dominating countries in football. Although a complicated history, with the split of West and East Germany after World War II, the success of the German Football Association cannot be ignored, winning four World Cups and three European Trophies.

Paying homage to this success, adidas Originals have crafted a special anniversary kit for DFB – celebrating an incredible 125 years. This also arrives alongside a lifestyle collection which features a quarter zip, tracksuit, hoodies and shoe – all taking German football off the pitch into everyday wear.

The partnership adidas and DFB have created over the past 50 years is one of the most esteemed in the game, so it is only right that the two celebrate in classic adidas style. The kit draws inspiration from past Germany kits, styled in a simple vintage look in the classic white and black so often seen throughout history. The iconic adidas Trefoil makes a clean return onto the Germany kit, reminiscing the shirts of the 80’s, paired next to a bespoke embroidered Germany crest which is custom-made for this anniversary. The Trefoil looks so right on a DFB kit.

Germany will be debuting the anniversary shirt later this week in the Nations League quarter finals.
