PUMA are back with an iconic drop, teaming up with Mundial Magazine for a special edition King boot. The King Mundial pays homage to the classic silo from the 70’s and 80’s, which was spotlighted on the feet of Diego Maradona, blended with an essence of Mundial Mag vibes.

PUMA are pulling inspiration from the archives for their latest drop, using the iconic legacy of the King to bring an essence of prime Maradona to the current day. The global sportwear brand have dropped a special edition ‘King Mundial’ in collaboration with Mundial Magazine, and it’s one for the ages.

The King Mundial fashions the classic black and white that the King loves to wear, complemented by unexpected pops of colour on the finer detailing – giving a traditional boot some modern-day visuals. The boot features a singular pink stud amongst all black studs, acting as a nod to the PUMA archive piece where the King had a different colour stud. Spotted on the heel of the boot is the number ten, paying tribute to the shirt number that some of the most esteemed King players wore – including Diego Maradona.

Spotlighting the partnership with Mundial Mag, the soleplate showcases the word ‘Mundial’ in the magazines signature font style. Another nod to the magazine is seen on the bottom of the fold-over tongue, where the co-ordinates of the bar in Manchester where Mundial Mag was formed are etched into the material. The insole and cushioning around the heel also display repeated Mundial branding amongst the sea of pink that the material fashions.

The King Mundial arrives in style, coming in a special edition box to match. The box models the same pink and black colourway, again with the Mundial branding printed all over. PUMA and Mundial Mag have worked up a classic with this drop.
